David K. Sanford, CPA, Managing Partner
David Sanford founded Sanford, Lea & Associates CPA in 1997. As Managing Partner of the firm, David’s responsibilities encompass everything from making it rain to taking out the trash. His niche expertise, however, lies in business consulting. Prior to establishing the firm, David worked at McCullough and Officer for three years and Mitchell, Bramer, McCullough & Roy for six years. David has earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Missouri State University and is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and registered representative of Cetera Financial Specialists. He is a member of Bolivar United Methodist Church and in his free time enjoys traveling with his wife, Missy, and trialing with his English springer spaniel dogs.
James Lea, CPA, Partner
James Lea joined the Sanford, Lea & Associates CPA team in 2006. A Partner of the firm, James’ niche expertise lies in business and individual tax. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Drury University and is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. He is a member of Schweitzer UMC. Outside of the office, James enjoys spending time with his wife, daughters, and dogs; playing golf; watching sports; and most outdoor activities
Yujiao Cricchio, CPA, Manager
Yujiao joined Sanford, Lea & Associates in 2014. As a Manager, she provides accounting services and business and individual tax preparation services, and specializes in business valuation services. Before joining the firm, Yujiao was a senior accountant at Abacus CPAs, LLC. Yujiao earned a Master of Accountancy from Missouri State University and a Bachelor of Science, Accounting from Truman State University. She is a member of the AICPA, MSCPA, and the NACVA (National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts). In her free time, Yujiao enjoys reading, drawing, and traveling.
Crystal Cozad, Staff Accountant
Crystal Cozad joined the Sanford, Lea & Associates CPA team in 2007. As a Staff Accountant, Crystal specializes in processing payroll, payroll taxes, W-2s, sales tax, and financial reporting for her clients. Prior to joining the firm, Crystal served in the Accounting department at Bass Pro Shops for two years, and worked with accounts receivable and accounts payable at Simclar for one year. She has earned a degree in Accounting from Ozarks Technical Community College. Outside of the office, Crystal enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Renee White, Staff Accountant
Renee joined Sanford, Lea & Associates in 2012. As a Staff Accountant, she is responsible for processing payroll, payroll taxes, W-2s, sales tax, and financial reporting. Renee’s previous work experience includes time as a cost accountant at Northrop Grumman, in the accounting department at Bass Pro Shops, and as a controller at Simclar Interconnect Technologies. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Drury University. When away from the office, Renee enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.
Adam Sterling, Staff Accountant
Adam joined the Sanford, Lea & Associates team in January 2014 as an Intern. As a recent graduate, he is joining the team as a Staff Accountant, where he prepares tax returns, creates financial statements, and prepares bank reconciliations. Before joining the firm, Adam volunteered as an Income Tax Assistant. He is currently working toward passing the Certified Public Accountant exam and recently completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Drury University. In his free time, Adam enjoys golfing, traveling, hiking, and other outdoor activities.
Kenna Corum, Staff Accountant
Kenna joined Sanford, Lea & Associates in 2015 as a Staff Accountant. Her role with the firm involves assisting clients by helping them find solutions for their daily, weekly, monthly, and annual accounting issues. Prior to joining the firm she spent nine years at Communication Solutions, LLC as a Human Resources specialist where her tasks included working closely with the Payroll department to ensure all deadlines were met, conducting benefit meetings, as well as performing other miscellaneous human resource and payroll duties. Kenna earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Accounting from Missouri Southern State University. When not in the office, Kenna enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and working on Do-It-Yourself projects.
Michael Baldus, Financial Paraplanner
Michael joined the Sanford, Lea & Associates team in November 2014 as an Intern. As a recent graduate, Michael is joining the team as a financial paraplanner, where he assists in creating complex financial plans, and assisting in the completion of investment applications. He is currently working toward passing the series 7 and 66 exams, and has recently completed a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Drury University. Outside of the office, Michael enjoys traveling, backpacking, and other outdoor activities.
Renee Kutzner, Administrative Staff
Renee joined the Sanford, Lea & Associates CPA team in 2015. Her role consists of performing receptionist’s duties as well as assisting her coworkers with various accounting projects. She also has experience with billing, payroll, data entry and other office management tasks. When not in the office, Renee enjoys entertaining her friends and family, working in the garden or on projects around the home, and attending church.
